Okay kiddo, so have you ever heard of Thomas Jefferson? He was a really important person in American history because he helped write the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence is basically a really special paper that says we, the people living in America, have the right to be free and happy.

Now, even though Thomas Jefferson died a long time ago, people still remember how important he was. That's why they built a really big building called the Jefferson Memorial in his honor. The Jefferson Memorial is like a giant house that people can go inside and learn more about Thomas Jefferson's life and all the amazing things he did to help America become a better place.

The Jefferson Memorial is located in a beautiful park in Washington D.C., which is the capital city of America. When you go inside, you can see a big statue of Thomas Jefferson, and you can also read some of his most famous words that he wrote a long time ago, like "all men are created equal." People really like going to the Jefferson Memorial because it's a peaceful and quiet place where they can think about what it means to be free and remember all the things that Thomas Jefferson did to help make America a great country.
