Jeremy Bentham

Jeremy Bentham was a famous British philosopher and thinker who lived in the 1700s and 1800s. He believed that our moral choices and laws should be based on what will cause the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. He called this idea 'utilitarianism'. He also wrote about politics, economics, and law, believing that everything should be organized for "the greatest good of all." He was a strong believer in human rights and equality. He helped create many reforms in the British government and was a strong supporter of the idea that all people should have the same rights and freedoms.
