Joan of Arc

Joan of Arc was a young girl who lived a very long time ago in France, around 600 years ago. She was a regular girl who lived a normal life until she started hearing voices from God when she was only 13 years old!

God told Joan that she had a special mission to save France from the English army that was trying to take over. She was told to go to the king of France and help him win back his kingdom.

Joan was very brave and even though she was just a girl, she made her way to the king and convinced him to let her lead his army. She wore armor and rode on horseback like the other soldiers.

Under Joan's leadership, the French army won some important battles that helped their cause. However, eventually she was betrayed and captured by the English and put on trial for her beliefs.

Despite her courage and bravery, many people did not believe in Joan's visions and she was ultimately found guilty and burned at the stake when she was only 19 years old.

Joan became a symbol of French unity and a national heroine, and was eventually declared a saint by the Catholic Church many years later. Her story has inspired many people over the centuries and she remains an important figure in history.
