ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Joash (biblical figure)

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about Joash, a guy from the Bible. Joash was a king of a place called Judah a very long time ago. He became king when he was very young, only 7 years old! But he had some good people around him to help him rule his kingdom.

Joash's reign as king was a very important time for the people of Judah. They had been through some tough times, but Joash helped them to rebuild their temple and fix things that were broken. He also listened to wise advisors who told him how to be a good king and follow God's ways.

Even though Joash started off as a good king, later on he didn't always do the right thing. Some people came and tempted him to follow other gods instead of God. They even convinced him to kill a wise man who had helped him before! This was a bad move and it caused trouble for Joash and his people.

In the end, Joash's reign as king came to an end and he died. But he is still remembered as a king who did some good things for his people, even though he made some mistakes. The story of Joash can teach us that it's important to listen to wise people, do what's right, and stay true to the things that are important to us.
