John Pinney

John Pinney was an important man in history. He was a slave on a plantation in the 1700s. He escaped from slavery and became a leader in the fight for freedom for African-Americans. He traveled around the United States, fighting for the rights of African-Americans to be free and for slavery to be abolished. He wrote many important documents to make sure that no one had to suffer like he did. He helped many people get their freedom and is remembered to this day as an important leader in the fight for equality.
