ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Josiah

Josiah is like a character from a storybook. He was a king from a long, long time ago when there were no cars, phones, or TVs. Back then, people used candles to see in the dark and wrote letters by hand to talk to faraway friends.

Josiah was a very special king because he loved his people very much. He wanted to make sure that everyone was treated fairly, and that they were able to live good lives. He also believed in a special God who he thought was looking out for him and his kingdom.

One day, Josiah was told about a special book that contained lots of important rules and stories that his people should follow. They called it the Torah, and it was very old and very important. Josiah knew that it was important to read the book and follow what it said.

So, Josiah gathered his people together and had the book read out loud to everyone. He realized that they had not been obeying the rules in the book, and he decided that they needed to start doing better. Josiah made a promise to follow the rules and to help his people do the same.

People loved Josiah because he was kind, fair, and wanted the best for everyone. He was a great king who left a big impact on history, and people still talk about him today.
