Judaism and environmentalism

Okay kiddo, so you know how we live on planet Earth and it's our home? Well, just like we take care of our house and keep it clean, people think we should take care of the Earth too. That's where environmentalism comes in!

Now Judaism is a religion that teaches many things, including how to live a good and meaningful life. It also talks about taking care of the Earth because it's a gift from God. Remember when you were given a gift and you wanted to take care of it and use it properly? Well, that's how Jewish people feel about the Earth.

In fact, they have a special word for it called "tikkun olam" which means repairing the world. They believe it's our job to make sure the Earth is healthy for future generations to enjoy, just like we enjoy it now.

So, Jewish people try to be environmentalists by doing things like recycling, conserving water, and not wasting food. They also think about how their actions affect the Earth and animals that live here.

That's why you might see Jewish organizations planting trees or cleaning up beaches, to show that they care about the Earth and want to keep it beautiful. And by doing all these things, they are following the teachings of their religion and being good caretakers of the world.
