ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Judas Iscariot

Judas Iscariot was a man who lived a long time ago in the same time as Jesus. Judas was one of Jesus’ disciples who helped him while he was teaching people about God.

Now, one day, Judas made a very bad decision. He betrayed Jesus by telling some people who didn't like Jesus where Jesus was staying, and they arrested him. They gave him a kiss to show where Jesus was because Jesus' friends couldn't figure out which one was Jesus in the dark, and then took Jesus away.

Judas did this because he wanted money that these people were going to give him in exchange for telling them. To betray someone like this is a very bad thing to do, and it made Jesus very sad.

Later, Judas felt very bad about what he did and tried to give back the money to the people who wanted to harm Jesus. However, it was not possible to reverse the harm caused by his actions.

People still talk about Judas today as an example of what not to do. Always be honest, don't betray people, and don't do bad things for money.
