Jumper (computing)

A jumper (in computing) is a small plastic connector that is used to change how two wires or circuits in a computer are connected. Jumper connectors can be used to set different settings or to close a circuit. For example, a jumper could be used to change a circuit from sending 2 volts to sending 4 volts.
