Kantian Empiricism is a philosophical idea created by German philosopher Immanuel Kant. He thought that knowledge comes from both experience (empiricism) and from thinking (rationalism). Empiricism means that we learn by experience or by observing the world around us. Rationalism means that we learn by relying on our thinking and reasoning. Kant believed that both of these things were important for learning and understanding. He said that in order for knowledge to have meaning, it must pass through both experience and reasoning. So in Kant's philosophy, experience and reasoning work together to give us real knowledge.
