ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kaurava

Imagine a story about two groups of people who really don't like each other. One group is called the Kauravas. They are a big family with a lot of brothers, cousins, and uncles. The Kauravas think they are better than everyone else and that they should be in charge of everything.

The other group is called the Pandavas. They are also a big family, but they are very kind and good-hearted. They want to be treated fairly and are willing to work hard for it.

In this story, both the Kauravas and Pandavas think they should be the rulers of a kingdom called Hastinapur. But instead of just talking about it, they decide to have a big battle to see who will win and become the rulers.

The Kauravas are really mean and they try to cheat their way to victory. They don't play fair and they want to win at any cost. They don't care if they hurt other people or break the rules. They even try to poison the Pandavas at one point!

On the other hand, the Pandavas are honest and kind. They try to fight the battle in a fair way and follow all the rules. They believe in being good to others and treating everyone with respect.

The story of the Kauravas is not just about a battle. It is also about the choices we make and how it can affect us and the people around us. The Kauravas make bad choices and it leads to their downfall. The Pandavas, on the other hand, make good choices and they eventually become the rulers of Hastinapur.

So, the Kauravas are the bad guys in this story because they are mean and want to win at any cost. The Pandavas are the good guys because they are kind and believe in being fair. It's important to always choose kindness and fairness over being mean and cheating, just like the Pandavas did.
