Kessler syndrome

Kessler Syndrome is a hypothetical situation where there could be too much junk floating around in space. Specifically, this could be pieces of spacecraft and other debris that have been left behind in space. All of this debris is orbiting around Earth, and when the pieces of debris get too close to each other, they could crash into each other and create even more pieces of debris. This creates a feedback loop and more and more junk keeps piling up in space. Eventually, it would be too dangerous to launch anything into space because of all of the junk that might crash into it.
