ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kim Il Sung

Kim Il Sung was a person who lived in a country called North Korea a long time ago. He was like a king, but the people called him a "great leader." He was in charge of everything in North Korea, and people had to do what he said.

Kim Il Sung had a very big family, and he had a son named Kim Jong Il who became the leader after him. They made everyone in North Korea think that they were very special and important, and that North Korea was the best place in the world.

Kim Il Sung did some things that were good, like building hospitals and schools. But he also did some bad things, like making the people in North Korea obey him without questioning him. He didn't like it when people said bad things about him, and he punished them very harshly.

Some people say that Kim Il Sung was a hero, but others say that he was a bad person. Either way, his legacy still lives on in North Korea today.
