ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Korean Unification Flag

Okay kiddo, imagine you have two toy cars, one is red and the other is blue. These cars don't really like each other very much and they don't play together. But one day, you decide to make them friends and play with them together.

Now, imagine that these cars are like two countries – South Korea and North Korea. They used to be one country a long time ago but they got separated because they didn't agree on how to play together.

Now, some grown-ups are trying to make these two countries friends again and play together like they used to. And when they do that, they might use a special flag called the Korean unification flag.

This flag is made up of two parts, just like our toy cars. One part is blue with a white map of Korea, that represents North Korea. The other part is red with the same map but it's blue, that represents South Korea.

When you put these two parts together, it looks like one flag but it shows both parts of the country. It's like saying, "Hey, we are all part of the same country, let's play together again!"

So, if the grown-ups can help these two countries become friends again, they might use this flag to show that they are all one big family.
