ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Kremlinology

When you are trying to figure out what someone is thinking, sometimes you have to look at how they act and what they say. This is what Kremlinology is all about. It's like trying to read someone's mind by looking at their actions and words.

In the past, Kremlinology was used to try to figure out what the leaders of the Soviet Union were thinking. People would look at things like who was standing next to the leader at important meetings, what they were wearing, and what words they used to describe certain events. All of these things could give clues about what was really going on in the minds of the leaders.

Today, Kremlinology is not used as much as it used to be, but it is still important in some parts of the world. For example, if you wanted to understand what is happening in North Korea, you might have to use Kremlinology to try to figure out what the leaders are really thinking.
