ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

LAN

A LAN or Local Area Network is like a group of friends who like to hang out together in the same room. They share toys, books, and snacks with one another. Similarly, a LAN is a group of computers or devices that are connected to each other through a cable, wireless signal or another method.

When computers or devices are connected to each other through a network, they can be used to share information and files like videos, music, and pictures with each other. This helps people to work on the same document or project from different computers at the same time.

Just like how friends can talk to each other in the same room, devices on a LAN can also communicate with each other to share data or play games together. The network is managed by a router, which ensures that everyone is connected and helps to direct data traffic between different devices on the network.

So, a LAN is like a group of friends hanging out together and sharing things, but instead of toys and snacks, it's computers and information!
