Lamassu

Lamassu is a very old and important creature from the stories of the ancient people who lived in a place called Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq. Lamassu is a big creature that is part bull, part eagle, and part lion. It has big wings like a bird and big claws like a lion.

Lamassu was believed to be a powerful and protective creature. It was often used in art and architecture as a symbol of strength and protection. People in Mesopotamia believed that if they put statues of Lamassu near their palaces or homes, they would be protected from bad things happening to them.

Even though lamassu was a mythological creature, it was very important to the people of Mesopotamia. They believed that it could bring them good luck and protect them from harm. Today, we can still see many examples of lamassu statues and reliefs from this ancient time in museums and historical sites.
