Land slug

Okay, so imagine a snail, but without a shell. That's kind of what a land slug looks like. It's a slimy creature that moves very slowly across the ground.

The reason it's called a "land slug" is because there are also water slugs that live in lakes and ponds.

Land slugs eat all kinds of things, like leaves, flowers, and even other slugs. And because they don't have any legs, they move using something called a "foot". It's not like our feet, though – it's a big, muscular part of their body that allows them to glide along the ground.

While some people might find slugs kind of yucky, they actually play an important role in their ecosystem. They help to break down dead plant matter, which helps to create new soil for plants to grow in. So even though they might not be the prettiest creatures around, they're still pretty cool!
