Language contact

Language contact is when two languages come together and there is influence on each other. When this happens, words and expressions from both languages can mix together. For example, someone may use a word from one language but pronounce it like it is from the other. Or, someone may mix two words from different languages together to make a new one. This is all part of language contact.
