ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Law of obligations

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a toy car and you let your friend play with it. Your friend accidentally breaks the car while playing with it. Now your friend has a responsibility, or an obligation, to fix or replace the toy car since they were the one who broke it.

This is kind of like the law of obligations. It's a set of rules that says if you do something that causes harm or damage to someone or their property, you have an obligation to make it right. This can be in the form of paying for damages or fixing the problem.

It's important for people to follow the law of obligations because it helps make sure everyone is treated fairly and nobody gets taken advantage of. Just like you would expect your friend to make things right with your toy car, people should always take responsibility for their actions and make sure they don't cause harm to others.
