Lead safe work practices

Lead is a metal that can be very dangerous if it gets into the human body. If we breathe it in or swallow it, it can cause serious health problems, especially in young children. To keep us safe, people need to follow lead safe work practices when they work around lead.

Lead safe work practices mean that people who work around lead do things in a certain way to protect themselves and others. This includes wearing special clothes, gloves, masks, and goggles to protect them from getting lead dust or particles on their skin, breathing in the air contaminated with lead or getting it in their eyes. They also put up barriers to block off areas where the lead work is being done, so that others can't accidentally walk through the area and get exposed to the lead.

People who work around lead are also trained to clean up areas where lead has been used or stored, and they must properly dispose of any lead waste material. All of these things are done to keep everyone safe from lead.

So, lead safe work practices are special ways that people work around lead to keep themselves and others safe. It involves wearing special clothing, using barriers to block off the areas where the work is going on, cleaning up after the work is done and properly disposing of any waste material. All these things are done to protect people from the dangers of lead.
