ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lead sled

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a toy car and you want to make it go faster. One of the things you could do is add weights to it, right?

Well, a lead sled is kind of like a grown-up version of that toy car. It's a car that's been purposely made heavier by adding big chunks of metal (like lead) to it.

But why would someone want to make their car heavier? Well, some people believe that a heavier car will ride smoother and be more stable when you're driving at high speeds. Plus, it can give the car a really cool, sleek look.

But there are some downsides to having a lead sled. For one thing, it's harder to control and steer because it's so heavy. And it's not very good for the environment or for your gas mileage, because carrying around all that extra weight takes more energy.

So while a lead sled might look pretty cool, it's not the best idea for everyday driving. But hey, it still makes for a fun toy car experiment!
