ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Levantines (Latin Christians)

Levantines are people who live in a part of the world called the Levant, which includes countries like Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel. Some Levantines are Latin Christians, which means they follow the Christian religion and speak a language called Latin.

When we talk about Latin Christians, we mean people who belong to a group of Christians who speak a language that is similar to the one used by ancient Romans many years ago. Latin was a very important language in the past, and it was used in many parts of the world, especially in Europe.

So, imagine you are living in a house and you have some friends who come from a place far away and they speak a different language. They tell you that they are Latin Christians, and this means that they follow a religion that is very important to them and they speak a language that is very different from yours.

But even though it can sometimes be hard to understand each other, you can still be friends and learn from each other's cultures. Similarly, people who are Latin Christians may have different beliefs and practices from those around them, but they are still part of the same community and can contribute to it in many ways.
