ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Leviticus 25

Okay, so Leviticus 25 is a part of the Bible that talks about rules that were given a long time ago to a group of people called the Israelites. They were living in a place called Israel and they had certain rules to follow.

One of these rules was about farmland. You see, back in those days, people relied on the land to grow food. They would plant crops and raise animals to eat. But the soil needed a break sometimes. So every seventh year, the Israelites were told not to plant any crops on their fields. They called this year Sabbatical.

During the Sabbatical year, the fields were given a chance to rest and recover. This was good for the soil because it would help the crops grow better in the future.

But that's not all! There was also a special year called the Jubilee year, which happened every 50 years. During this year, not only did the fields rest, but people who had been forced to sell their land or become slaves were set free. This was called a year of liberation because people were allowed to start anew.

So in summary, Leviticus 25 talks about two special years: Sabbatical year where the land rests, and Jubilee year where people are given a fresh start.
