ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lexical item

A lexical item is a "word" that we use when speaking and writing. Words can be different types, like nouns (person, place, or thing), verbs (action words), adjectives (words that describe nouns) or adverbs (words that describe verbs). Every word we know is a lexical item, and we use them to communicate with others. Think of them like building blocks for language!
