Lexicographic information cost is a way to measure how much time and effort someone needs to spend in order to find something out. It measures the amount of work needed to understand something. For example, when you look up a word in a dictionary, the lexicographic information cost is the time it takes for you to find the definition of the word. The cost is the amount of effort it took to look up the word.
