Line regression is like trying to guess how tall someone will be when they grow up by looking at how tall they are right now.
Imagine you know the height of a bunch of kids in your class and their age. You could draw a line on a graph with age on one side and height on the other. This line is called a regression line.
Then for a new kid who just joined the class, you can put their age on the line and see where it intersects with the line, which will give you a guess for their height when they are older.
Of course, this is just a guess and it may not always be accurate because different kids grow at different rates. However, the line regression tries to find the best guess based on the data that you have.
