ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Linear algebra

Linear Algebra is like a big game where you try to solve puzzles with numbers. The 'game pieces' in our puzzles are called numbers, but we also have arrows and shapes to help us out. For example, if we have two arrows pointing in different directions and we want to figure out how far apart they are, linear algebra can help us figure that out. In linear algebra, we can line up numbers and arrows with each other to figure out the answer. We can also use shapes to help us solve puzzles. For example, if we have two squares, we can figure out how many sides they have in common by counting them up. Then, we use that number to solve the puzzle.
