Linguistic determinism

Linguistic determinism is the idea that the language we speak affects the way we think. It means that the way people think, reason and understand the world is different depending on the language they speak. For example, some languages have several words to describe snow, while others have none. This could mean that people who speak those languages are able to better understand and think about snow in different ways.
