Linguistic profiling

Linguistic profiling is when people judge words you use and the way you talk to make assumptions about who you are. Lots of people do this, but it's not always fair or nice because it doesn't take into account your unique experiences or background. When people are linguistic profiling, they are taking only one small part of you (what language you use) and making assumptions about many other aspects of you, like your age, culture, or intelligence. It's like a jigsaw puzzle – if someone only looks at one piece, they can't see the whole picture.
