Log house

A log house is like a big puzzle made out of wood! Imagine playing with building blocks, except the blocks are made out of tree trunks. People used to build log houses a lot because they were easy to build and keep warm. When you're building a log house, you have to make sure that the logs fit together tightly so that the wind and rain can't get inside. Once the logs are all stacked together, you can use something called "chinking" to seal any gaps between the logs. Chinking is a special kind of mortar that's like a mix between cement and mud. When it dries, it makes a really strong seal! Log houses are still around today in some parts of the world, and people still build them because they look really cool and they're very cozy inside.
