ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lord Advocate

Okay kiddo, so a Lord Advocate is someone who has a big important job in Scotland. They are like a lawyer who works for the government and helps keep people safe by making sure that the rules are being followed.

The Lord Advocate is in charge of prosecuting people who break the law and making sure that they get punished for what they did wrong. They have a team of lawyers who work with them to help them do their job.

But that's not all they do, they also give advice and guidance to the government on legal matters. And they even represent the government in court cases too!

It's a really important job because the Lord Advocate helps to keep Scotland a safe and fair place for everyone to live in.
