Lunokhod 1

Lunokhod 1 was a robot that went on a very special adventure to the moon a long time ago! It was made by some amazing scientists and engineers in Russia. The robot was sent to the moon in a special spacecraft called Luna 17.

Once it landed on the moon, Lunokhod 1 could move around and explore different areas. It had special wheels that let it move over rocks and rough terrain. There were also special tools and cameras attached to it that allowed it to look at and study the moon's surface.

Scientists back on earth could control Lunokhod 1 and make it move around the moon by sending signals through a special antenna. They could also see what the robot was seeing through its cameras.

Lunokhod 1 was the first robot to ever explore the moon! It was a big achievement for the scientists and engineers who made it, and it helped us learn a lot more about the moon than we knew before.
