ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lusatia

Lusatia is a place where people live. It is in Europe, near the countries of Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. It is also sometimes called "Silesia" or "Luzica."

A long time ago, people who spoke a language called "Sorbian" or "Wendish" lived in Lusatia. They still live there today, but there aren't as many of them as there used to be. Now, most people who live in Lusatia speak German.

There are different parts of Lusatia. One part is called "Upper Lusatia" and another part is called "Lower Lusatia." They are different because they are in different places and have different buildings and things to see.

Lusatia has a lot of history. There are churches and castles that are very old and have been there for hundreds of years. There are also things to see like museums and parks.

Sometimes, people who live in Lusatia want it to be its own country because they feel like they are different from the other places around them. But for now, it is still a part of other countries.
