Wends

Wends were a group of people who lived a long time ago in a place called Europe. They lived in a time when there were many different groups of people who had their own languages and cultures. The Wends were one of these groups and they lived in an area which is now part of Germany and Poland.

The Wends were known for being skilled farmers and craftsmen. They would grow crops like wheat and vegetables and raise animals like cows, pigs, and sheep. They would also create things with their hands like pottery, baskets, and clothing. They were very good at these things and their work was highly valued in their communities.

The Wends also had their own language which was called Wendish. It was a language that was different from the languages spoken by their neighbors. They would use it to talk to each other and to tell stories and legends that had been passed down from generation to generation.

Over time, the area where the Wends lived became a place where different groups of people would come and go. Some of these people would move in and take over the land that the Wends had been living on for centuries. This caused the Wends to have to move and find new places to live.

Today, the Wends are recognized as an important part of European history and culture. They have left behind evidence of their presence in the form of archaeological sites, documents, and folktales.
