ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Machine epsilon

Machine Epsilon is a number that helps to explain the accuracy of calculations on a computer. It measures the difference between the smallest number a computer can recognize (the smallest number in a decimal) and the number that comes after it. For example, if the smallest number a computer can recognize is 0.1, then machine epsilon would be the difference between 0.1 and the next smallest number the computer can recognize - 0.01.
