Macroevolution

Macroevolution is the big changes that happen to living things over a long period of time. Imagine a butterfly - they used to only be small and brown, but over thousands of years they changed both sizes and colors. That’s macroevolution in action! Scientist believe this happens because of tiny changes that happen over and over again that add up. Many of these changes are caused by random things like accidents and environmental conditions, while other changes go on to be passed on from parent to child. All of these tiny changes add up over time, slowly changing the way something looks and acts.
