ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Madhava of Sangamagrama

Madhava of Sangamagrama was a very smart man who lived a long, long time ago in a place called India. He was really good at math and discovered a lot of important things that helped us understand how numbers work.

One of the things Madhava is famous for is something called the Madhava-Leibniz series. This is a really long math problem that helps us figure out things like how fast things are moving or how much something weighs.

Madhava also figured out a way to find out the circumference of a circle, which is like the line that goes around the outside of it. This is really important because circles are all around us in the world, like in wheels or pizzas, and we need to know their size to build things and make calculations.

Even though Madhava lived a long time ago, we still use a lot of his ideas in math today. He was a really smart guy who helped us understand the world around us a little bit better!
