Magnetic anomaly

A magnetic anomaly is when there is a difference in the earth's magnetic field from what we expect it to be. Magnets are affected by the earth's magnetic field and the anomaly means that the magnetic field isn't what we would normally feel. This can be caused by things like rocks or minerals underground that create their own magnetic fields and make the earth's magnetic field a bit different.
