Geomagnetic reversal

Geomagnetic reversal is when the Earth's magnetic poles (north and south) switch places. This happens every hundreds of thousands of years. It means that a compass that usually points north would then point south! It's like the north pole and south poles of the Earth's magnetic field changed places.
