Magnetohydrodynamic generator

So you know how magnets can stick to metal and pull it around? Well, if you move a magnet past a wire, it creates something called electricity.

Now, let's say we have a big magnet that doesn't move, but we have a bunch of hot gases flowing through a tube next to it. We can use the hot gases to create a push, like a fan, and make them move faster and faster.

When the fast-moving gases pass through the magnet, it creates electricity in the wire surrounding the magnet. This is called a magnetohydrodynamic generator (MHD).

The electricity we create in the MHD can be used to power all sorts of things, like lights and machines, and it's a really clean way to make energy since we're not burning any fuel like coal or natural gas to create it.
