Malocclusion

Have you ever seen someone who has teeth that don't line up perfectly? Maybe their top teeth stick out too far or their bottom teeth are too close together? That's called malocclusion. It happens when your teeth and jaws don't fit together the right way.

Think of your teeth like pieces of a puzzle. If one piece is too big, then it won't fit with the other pieces and the whole puzzle won't look right. It's the same with your teeth. If your jaws grow differently or your teeth are too big or too small, then they won't fit together like they should.

Malocclusion can cause a lot of problems, like trouble biting and chewing food, pain in your jaw or face, and even problems with your speech. Luckily, there are ways to fix it, like braces or surgery. Your dentist or orthodontist can help you figure out what's causing your malocclusion and come up with a plan to fix it.
