Manila massacre

Okay kiddo, there was an event that happened in Manila, which is a big city in the Philippines. This event was called the Manila Massacre and it happened in 1945.

So, during that time, there was a war going on called World War II. The Japanese army was occupying the Philippines and they were in control of Manila. The Japanese were fighting against the United States and their allies.

Now, the Manila Massacre happened when the United States and the Philippines were about to liberate Manila from the Japanese control. Before they could do that, the Japanese soldiers got really mad and angry because they knew they were going to lose.

The Japanese soldiers started attacking innocent people who were living in Manila. They killed both Filipinos and foreigners who were living there. They destroyed buildings and set them on fire too. It was very scary for everyone who was there.

Please remember that it was a very sad and violent time so we should always strive to be peaceful and kind to one another.
