ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Mass noun

Okay kiddo, a mass noun is a type of word that we use to talk about things that can't be counted easily. Instead of saying "one apple, two apples, three apples," we use mass nouns to talk about things like "juice" or "mud" or "rice." These things are like a big group or pile of something, and we can't really separate them out into individual pieces. So when we use a mass noun, we don't usually use "a" or "an" in front of it like we would with a regular noun. Instead, we might use words like "some" or "a lot of" to describe how much of the mass noun we have. Does that help, little buddy?
