Mating system

Mating system is the way animals decide to pair up for mating. It usually depends on certain behaviours or physical characteristics. Animals usually choose to mate with an animal that is closest to them or that looks like them. For example, some animals will only mate with the opposite sex of their own species. Other animals may mate randomly with any animal of the same species that they encounter.
