Mausoleum

A mausoleum is kind of like a special building where people who have passed away can be put to rest. It's usually really big and fancy, with lots of different rooms and places to hold people's remains. Think of it like a really nice house, but for people who aren't with us anymore.

Some mausoleums are above ground, which means they're like big boxes where people's coffins or urns can be placed. Others are built underground, sort of like a mini city for the dead. People can choose to be buried in a mausoleum for all sorts of reasons - sometimes it's a family tradition, or maybe because they have a lot of money and want a really elaborate resting place.

Mausoleums can be found in lots of different cultures, and some are even considered historical landmarks. If you ever visit one, it's important to be respectful and quiet since it's a place where people are laid to rest.
