Maya (religion)

Maya religion is a set of beliefs and traditions that were practiced by the ancient Maya people in Central America. These beliefs included worshiping gods and goddesses, who were thought to have special powers to bring luck, protection, and good fortune to people. Other beliefs included the importance of making offerings, ceremonies, and rituals in order to maintain a good relationship with the gods and goddesses. People also believed that the spirits of their ancestors were around them and could help them. This belief was especially important when going to battle or facing hardships. People believed that if they asked their ancestors for help, their ancestor's spirits would assist them.
