Mazanderani cuisine is a type of food made in the Mazandaran region in northern Iran. It is known for its spiciness, strong flavors, and aromatic spices. Common dishes include rice dishes like polow, soups like borani, and kofta, which are vegetables and meatballs cooked in rich sauces. Many of the ingredients used in Mazanderani cuisine are grown in the fertile Caspian fields of the region. Mazanderani dishes are traditionally served with flatbreads called sangak.
