Mean dependence is when numbers or values that are close to each other, also affect each other. For example, if you had five numbers (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) and you wanted to find the mean or average of those numbers, you would add all the numbers together (1+2+3+4+5) to get 15, and then divide that by how many numbers you had (in this case 5) to get 3, which is the mean or average. So, the number 3 is dependent on all the other numbers. If you took one of the numbers away, the mean would be different.
