ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Media reform

Media reform is all about making the way we hear and see things on TV, radio, and the internet work better for everyone. It's like when your mommy or daddy cleans up the toys in your room, so you can find your favorite ones easily.

Usually, people who are rich or powerful get to control what we hear and see in the media. They can choose what stories get told, and what opinions get shared. This can be unfair because it means that ordinary people's voices don't get heard as much.

Media reform tries to change this by making the media more fair and balanced. Sometimes it means new laws or rules that stop people from having too much control over what we hear and see. It might mean more TV shows and news articles that talk about different points of view and different problems.

By making sure that everyone has an equal chance to be heard, media reform hopes to make the world a fairer and better place to live.
